  • Polish Sculpture Gallery. The greatest exhibition of this kind in Poland

    114 works of art, including sculptures of children and women as well as busts of famous historical personalities, will be displayed in the Polish Sculpture Gallery in the Old Orangery. These are works of almost the most prominent Polish artists active from the beginning of the 19th century until the middle of the 20th century.

    The Royal Łazienki are competing for the title of the best museum in Europe. The summer residence of Stanisław August has been nominated for the European Museum of the Year Award – EMYA 2017. This prestigious distinction has been awarded to cultural venues since 1977.

    We invite visitors to the 57th season of Chopin Concerts, which will last in the Royal Łazienki until the end of September 2016. The event will feature 40 outstanding pianists including musicians from Japan, Russia and Ukraine.

  • "Poland – Visit more – Weekend at Half Price". The Royal Łazienki Museum has joined the campaign

    From 23 to 25 September 2016, admission tickets to all the buildings in the Royal Łazienki will be available at a 50% discount. The Museum has joined the initiative "Poland – Visit More – Weekend at Half Price", launched by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism.

  • Chinese Lanterns Festival. Oriental concerts in the Chinese Garden

    In the second part of the Chinese Lanterns Festival you are invited to the Chinese Garden for concerts of oriental music. Every Sunday until 28 August, outstanding artists will play traditional musical instruments. The Buyo Japanese dance and tales about the Far East culture are not to be missed either.

  • 2nd Festival of Baroque Opera in the Royal Theatre

    Our visitors are invited to the 2nd Festival of Baroque Operas Dramma per Musica, which will begin on 2 September in the Royal Łazienki. The programme will include operas, a vocal and dance performance as well as chamber concerts. Our guests will have a chance to see, among others, Handel’s Orlando, and the unjustly forgotten work by Leonardo Vinci – Semiramide riconosciuta.

  • Thousands of people contemplating the famous painting by Mignon

    More than 39 thousand people have seen the excellent painting "Flowers in a Glass Vase" by Abraham Mignon, displayed in the Palace on the Isle. The work of art comes from the Mauritshuis Museum in The Hague, which houses one of the best collections in the world of Dutch and Flemish painting of the Golden Age.

  • Feel like in the Netherlands. Visit the new garden near the Old Orangery

    Tulips, narcissi, roses, hydrangeas, and perennial plants - in the coming months, hundreds of these plants will bloom in the Dutch Flower Garden near the Old Orangery. The first inflorescences, which were designed by the Dutchman Niek Roozen, will be available to admire from the end of April - since 29 April.

    The Norwegian Embassy and its guests marked the Norwegian Constitution Day - the most colourful and joyful event in the country of the fjords - with a reception in the Old Orangery. On 17 May, Norway celebrates the anniversary of the adoption by the state of the constitution in 1814.

  • Tulipomania in the Royal Łazienki. Thousands of flowers in the gardens (video)

    Thousands of tulips in colours ranging from white to near-black will appear in spring in the Gardens of the Royal Łazienki. In this way the Museum will remind its visitors of the tulipomania - the European fascination with those flowers, which originated in the Netherlands.

  • 12 maja 1670 roku urodził się August II Mocny - król Polski, elektor Saksonii i… rekordzista Europy w łamaniu podków gołymi rękami (tak przynajmniej twierdził jego dwór!). Jego zamiłowanie do siły, przepychu i sztuki zapisało się w historii Rzeczypospolitej na wiele sposobów. Choć Łazienki Królewskie powstały dopiero za czasów Stanisława Augusta, to właśnie August II rozbudził w Warszawie modę na wspaniałe rezydencje, ogrody i kolekcje sztuki, które miały dorównywać największym dworom Europy. To on sprowadzał do Polski artystów z Drezna i Włoch, a jego wystawny styl życia stworzył kontekst dla późniejszego "królewskiego ogrodu filozofa".
